Procedures for Thesis Books

In order to insure the best possible binding for your thesis and prompt
delivery to you, be sure you read and follow these brief guidelines:

1.  All thesis books must be turned in to your advisor by due date assigned by your advisor and with stamped envelopes to where you want your thesis mailed.

2.  Your Advisor will turn in all theses to LADC (note to all advisors, Please be sure to check for accuracy of author, title, and other important information. Keep a list of all thesis turned in to you and remember to include on your list addresses of where to forward your student’s thesis.)

3.  LADC will compile their own list, which will consist of the Person’s name, number of copies turned in by advisor, advisor name, and the date in which they were turned in, of all these turned in by your advisor.

Person Name Number of Copies Advisor Date Rec’d

4.  LADC will forward all theses received to the RBD Library Binding Department.

5.  The Binding Department employees will gather all information about books, then ship out books to be bound.

6.  The Binding process will take anywhere from 6-8 weeks to complete depending on the number of theses sent out that particular semester.

7.  When Theses are delivered from Bindery to the RBD library, the library staff will remove one book for the Library, and deliver all other these to LADC. LADC employee will check in theses, check for correct spelling of the name of the author, the title of the book, and a quick check to see if book is compiled in the correct order. The Library will then notify the advisor to come pick up theses from the Library. (Note to Advisor: Please double check theses for binding errors before sending them out.)

8.  The advisor will then send the student’s thesis to them at appropriate address.

The cost is $10 per copy (more $ if pockets are included). Checks should be made out to the School of Architecture, not the Library.
