Historical or Biographical Sketch:
The Light Horse Harry Lee Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in Auburn, Alabama in 1896 by Mrs. Patrick Hues Mell. Mrs. Mell was the wife of Professor Mell, who taught Chemistry at Alabama Polytechnic Institute (presently Auburn University).

Scope and Content:
Consists of chapter yearbooks; directories of committees; Alabama state directories; state conference programs and dinner programs; memorial service programs; national resolutions; chapter awards; chapter minutes; chapter histories; newspaper clippings; photographs; post cards; and correspondence from the Daughters of the American Revolution.
