Scope / Content: Five letters written by Pvt. Madison Kilpatrick to his family who lived on a farm near Godfrey, Putnam Co., Georgia. Photocopies of manuscripts and typescripts provided by Georgia State Archives, February 1965.

Biographical Sketch: Kilpatrick, of Putnam Co., Georgia, enlisted as a private in Co. H, 5^th Regiment, Georgia Militia on July 6, 1864 and surrendered on April 26, 1865.
