Historical or Biographical Sketch:
The Marble City Land and Furnace Company was founded by Samuel Noble and other business partners sometime in the early 1880s to smelt iron ore in Anniston and Sylacauga, Alabama.

Scope and Content:
Consists of photocopies of correspondence, draft contracts and contract proposals created or received by Samuel Noble of Anniston, Alabama from 1885 to 1891. Includes a copied ledger page documenting the real estate transactions (1871-1884) of Samuel Noble. Originals held by owner.
