Historical or Biographical Sketch:
Carol Ellenore Scott Gravlee was a resident of Fortson, Georgia prior to attending the Alabama Polytechinic Institute (now Auburn University) from 1946 to 1950. On January 20, 1949, Gravlee was a majorette that accompanied the college band that marched at President Harry S. Truman's inaugeration. She graduated from API in 1950 with a degree in Business Management.

Scope and Content:
Consists of memorabilia from the Carol Scott Gravlee's 1949 trip to Washington, D. C. for the inaugeration of President Harry S. Truman. The collection includes a menu from the train, a roster and sleeping arrangements, an edition of the Washington Post highlighting the inaugeration, photographs of majorettes and male "twirlers" and one pair of majorette boots.
