Scope / Content: Copy of the will (1852) of Robert Rea, father of B.F. Rea; notebook (1855-1861) of expenses and wages paid by Rea; scrapbook (1879) of clippings from the Scientific American; obituary (1908) and biographical sketches (n.d.) of Rea; and U.S. Dept. of Agriculture circulars (1868).

Biographical Sketch: Rea, a Georgia native, graduated from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia in 1842. He practiced medicine in Greensboro, Georgia, until 1852, when he moved to LaFayette, Alabama. During the Civil War, he served as a Confederate surgeon. He returned to LaFayette after the war and practiced medicine in Chambers County.
