Date:  1909-1982

Biographical Sketch:  Tom Busch was the chief equipment and logging engineer for International Paper Company's Southern Kraft Division. He designed tree harvesting machines in the 1950s and 1960s that modernized and mechanized the pulpwood industry. Bettie Busch was active in the Republican Women's Federation of Baldwin County (Ala.) during the 1960s.

Scope / Content:  Subgroup 1:  Tom Busch papers consist of 3 series:  1. Published materials (article reprints, technical bulletins, etc.) concerning forestry and forest problems in the southern U.S.;  2. Correspondence 1955-65, 1982; 3. Photographs and films of logging machinery and operations.

Subgroup 2:  Bettie Busch papers include financial documents, membership rosters, newsletter (1963-1970), correspondence (1960-1969), newspaper clippings, relating to activities of Republican Womens' Federation of Baldwin County (Ala.).
