Biographical Sketch: Top Sergeant Fred L. Pfeiffer (Aviation Section-Signal Corps) of Brooklyn, New York, never fought on the front in World War I. He moved to various U.S. bases including South San Antonio, Texas; Omaha, Nebraska; and Arcadia, California.
Scope / Content: Letters from Pfeiffer during his service in World War I to his wife Genevieve in Brooklyn, New York. Pfeiffer describes his experience of training men in aviation signal work in World War I. This experiences provides a different perspective about World War I than the men who were at the front.
