Biographical Sketch: Sarver served as executive secretary of Auburn Alumni Association, 1951-1976. Directed the Auburn University Development Program, 1960-1976. Also, he served as district manager for Reliance Insurance Company of Philadelphia, 1941-1951.

Scope / Content: Collection contains correspondence with influential Auburn University officials. Several items relate to a wide range of activities that involved the Alumni Association, the Development Program, and/or Sarver because of his position: outreach efforts to Auburn alumni, emergency funding campaign in late 1950s, Sarver's (sometimes covert) role re: AU integration, relations between Alumni Association and AU athletic department.  Also contains materials on Sarver's involvement with Veterans of Foreign Wars, including anti-communism activities and efforts to establish a VFW Library Memorial Fund.
