Scope / Content: Correspondence (1864-1865) between Weedon and his fiancee, Mary (Mollie) Young of Eufaula, including two Civil War letters written by Weedon while on post duty in Eufaula and in Auburn, Alabama. Post-war correspondence consists of letters between Weedon and Miss Young while Weedon was practicing medicine in Key West for six months to recoup his fortunes before their marriage.

Biographical Sketch: Weedon, a Florida native, served as health officer in the port of Key West, Florida, from 1857 to 1861. During the Civil War, he served as a surgeon with the Army of Tennessee until 1864, when he was transferred to post duty. After the war, he practiced medicine and went into the drug business in Eufaula, Alabama.
