Organizational Sketch: Cotton ginning company formed in 1937 by J. G. Laney with two gins in Tallasee, Alabama. Later expanded to Notasulga, Liberty City, and Carville, Alabama.

Scope / Content: Largely financial records, including journals, account books, balance sheets, contracts, invoices, tax records, and day books from various years. Also includes blueprints of plants and machinery, plus other documents relating to Laney Cotton Company and the cotton gin industry. Organized in 2 Series:  1. Early Records, 1937-1954; 2.
