The API Band performed during the 1915 Alabama Confederate Veterans Reunion at Selma in front of the Hotel Albert.  Two or three years later, several of these musicians were in Europe with the 16th Infantry Regiment Band.  P.R. "Bedie" Bidez (third from right), later Auburn's bandmaster, led that Army band across France.  Snare drummer F.M. "Taterbug" Taylor (at bass drummer's left) reportedly began to play the cadence for "Touchdown Auburn" as the band entered Germany. -- Photo: AU Archives
