LOCATING BOOKS

Specific titles about AIDS may be found by using AubieCat, the online catalog, from the AubiePlus terminals which are located on every floor of RBD Library, Veterinary Medicine Library and the Library of Architecture, Design and Construction.

Click on the Author/Title/Subject button and using the subject search:  AIDS (DISEASE)  the computer will list a range of subject headings with sub-divisions. You may browse this list by clicking on any of the links in the table in the column marked Heading.

When a relevant title is displayed on the screen, click on the link in the column marked Complete Title and print or write down the call number of the book in order to locate it in the Library. Note also the location of the book--RBD Library, Veterinary Medicine Library, Mic. & Docs. (Microforms and Documents), etc.

LOCATING JOURNAL ARTICLES

Journal articles on a topic for the past 10 years or so are in several databases available from any AubiePlusterminal through the Indexes and Databases by Subject  link on campus and from a similar link for off campus use also called Indexes and Databases by Subject . Use the Medicine category for scholarly articles and the News & Current Affairs category for more general articles. Remember, many of these databases contain full text articles that can be printed, downloaded to disk, or e-mailed. For those articles that are not available full text, you must do a journal title (or source) search in AubieCat to find out if the material is available in the library.

EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES (ERIC)

The ERIC via OVID database is also available from any AubiePlus terminal off of the Indexes and Databases pages. ERIC serves as an index to education-related literature--research reports, instructor's guides, journal articles, etc. ERIC include the Resources in Education (RIE) index and Current Index to Journals in Education (CIJE).

Those records that have an accession number beginning with "ED" are available on microfiche in the MADD Microfiche Collection. The records that have an "EJ" accession number, are journal articles. Again, check  you must do a journal title (or source) search in AubieCat to find if the Library subscribes to that particular journal.  A Keyword search in ERIC via OVID can be done using  ACQUIRED IMMUNE DEFICIENCY SYNDROME.

The following resources are titles that are located in MAD (Microforms and Documents, RBD Library) unless otherwise noted, and are published by the federal government. Additional locations are listed after the description of the publication. These titles are also indexed in AubieCat and some of the periodicals are indexed in other various databases.
