Does bias matter?Depending on your project, bias can be a good or a bad thing. If you are trying to prove a point, and the bias of the piece supports your view, that is good. If the bias is in opposition of your point, that is bad.Also, if you have to present both sides of an argument, you need materials that present differing viewpoints. When an author is affiliated with a particular organization, that organization might have a bias. Therefore the author is probably biased. Some topics that have organizations on both sides of an issue include abortion, politics, and censorship among others.
