    The Bureau of the Census (http://www.census.gov/)
      provides indepth demographic data and the Tiger Map Server. The Tiger Map Server can be manipulated to reveal a variety of features including transportation routes, geographic features, and city labels.

    The U.S. Gazetteer

      is used to identify places to view with the Tiger Map Server and obtain census data from the 1990 Census Lookup server. You can search for places, counties or minor civil divisions (MCDs) by entering the name and state abbreviation (optional), or 5-digit zip code.

    Fedstats

      is a quick way to view more than 70 agencies in the United States Federal Government who produce statistics of interest to the public. Click on the regional statistics link for quick access to statistics on demographics, crime, education, health, and labor; and click on Fast Facts to get to a link for the Statistical Abstract of the United States.

    The State of the Cities Data System

      provides data for individual cities from a database of Census data. It contains data for 539 metropolitan and associated areas for 1970-90, as well as a total population estimate for 1996, and poverty rate estimates for 1993 and 1995.
