The Plum Book: Policy and Supporting Positions
- Published every four years after the latest Presidential election, the
United States Government Policy and Supporting Positions, is commonly
known as the Plum Book. This publication contains data on over 8,000 Federal
civil service
leadership and support positions in the legislative and executive
branches of the Federal Government that may be subject to
noncompetitive appointment.

Government Information Locator Service (GILS)
- "As part of the Federal role in the National
Information Infrastructure, GILS identifies and describes information resources
throughout the Federal government, and provides assistance in obtaining
the information. GILS supplements other government and commercial information
dissemination mechanisms, and uses international standards for information
search and retrieval so that information can be retrieved in a variety
of ways."

Government Printing Office. It is a service that assists users
in obtaining Federal Government information via the internet, and
provides direct access to individual publications located on servers at
official Federal agency web sites.
