NATIONAL TRANSPORTATION ATLAS DATA BASES 1995

TD 1.56:AT 6

This CD-ROM is a compilation of databases of transportation facilities. These facilities include transportation networks, terminals and intermodal facilities. Additional reference databases are provided, including state, county and large urban area boun dary files and boundary/network files for Mexico and Canada. These databases are provided in ASCII format and are intended for use with geographic information systems software. This initial release of the Atlas Databases provides a sound basis for devel oping maps and for visualizing the relationship between transportation facilities.



TRANSPORTATION DATA SAMPLER

TD 1.56:D 26

This CD is an introduction by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics to the variety of information resources in the US Dept. of Transportation and allied agencies, and is a test of CD-ROM technology for the dissemination of data products. This sampler c ontains databases and reports in a variety of spreadsheet, database and word processing formats. No retrieval or browsing software is included on the disc. Users must use their own spreadsheet and other packages for accessing and manipulating the files.



TRAFFIC SAFETY CD-ROM

TD 1.56:T 67/

This CD-ROM is a compilation of 20 years (1975-94) of Fatal Accident Reporting System (FARS) data and 7 years (1988-94) of General Estimates System (GES) data. The FARS data provide a census of fatal motor vehicle traffic crashes in the US and contain detailed information on crash, vehicle, driver, occupant and non-occupant characteristics. In addition, data are provided for the period 1982-94 for the FARS blood alcohol concentration (BAC distribution files. The GES data provide general information on a probability sample of all severities of police-reported traffic crashes in the U.S. Data for both FARS and GES data sets are provided in ASCII format on this disc along with their associated documentation files. Accessing the actual FARS and GES data requires spreadsheet, database or statistical application software. With the FOLIO software, included on the disc, data users can view Traffic Safety Facts 1994 and 12 topically-oriented Traffic Safety Fact Sheets from 1994.



UNITED STATES WATERWAY DATA

This CD is a collection of data from several agencies and institutions, including the US Army Corps of Engineers Navigation Data Center, US Bureau of the Census, US Coast Guard, Oak Ridge National Lab and Vanderbilt University. Data include ports and wate rways files, lock characteristics and performance monitoring (vessel and commodity data), dredging contracts, mile markers, commodity movements by state and by tons, cargo files, vessel files, cargo exports and imports, Coast Guard files, and waterway ne twork geographic database.



1990 CENSUS TRANSPORTATION PLANNING PACKAGE

The Census Transportation Planning Package (CTPP) is a set of special tabulations of 1990 census data (place of work and transportation data) tailored to meet the data needs of transportation planners. The tabulations also contain general interest inform ation on the work force by place of work. Data on this CD may be accessed using TransVU-CTPP software available free from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics or the raw data may be accessed directly by users with their own data manipulation software. TransVU-CTPP is a Microsoft Windows application that provides both map and tabular views of data and simplifies extraction of tables into dBASE, Lotus, and comma delimited or fixed format text files. Tables can be selected by summary level, topic, univer se or geographic location.



TRAFFIC SAFETY DATA: 1988-1993

The Traffic Safety Data CD-ROM was developed by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's National Center for Statistics and Analysis to make traffic safety data easily accessible and widely available . The data contained on this CD include the 1992 Alcohol Involvement in Fatal Crashes Annual Report, the 1988-93 General Estimates System data files, 1988-93 Fatal Accident Reporting System data files, the 1992 Traffic Safety Facts Annual Report and the 1992 Traffic Safety Fact Sheets. FARS and GES data are available in SAS and ASCII formats.



TIGER/Line 1994

TD 1.56/5:CD-94-TGR 1-6

The TIGER/Line Files, 1994 are extracts of selected geographic and cartographic information from the Census Bureau's TIGER (Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing) System. The 1994 TIGER files reflect [improved] address ranges. The se files have a similar format and structure as the TIGER 1992 files but include field definition changes and five new record types that accommodate information that is new or information previously supplied separately in another Census product. Principa l differences between the 1992 and 1994 TIGER/Line files are explained in the Introduction to the documentation which is included on the disc.



ELECTRONIC DOCUMENT SYSTEM

TD 4.76:EL 2/CD

This CD contains three directories: ATP96172 (Air Traffic Publications Knowledge-Base); FAR96172 (Federal Aviation Regulations Knowledge-Base); WV21SRC which contains the WorldView 2.1 software for Windows or MOSAIC. The Air Traffic Publications contains : Aeronautical Information Manual, Air Traffic Bulletins, Air Traffic Control FAAO7110.65, Contractions FAAO7340.1, Facility Operation and Administration FAAO 7210.3, Flight Services FAAO 7110.10, Location identifiers FAAO 7350.6, etc. FAR96172 contains: Parts 1,11,61,91,119 and associated SFARS.



ENCYCLOPEDIA OF MEDICAL PROGRAM DATA (Office of Aviation Medicine)

This CD is a pilot project containing various publications, orders, directives, and other information deemed useful to Office of Aviation Medicine personnel in the performance of their job functions. This CD contains Office of Aviation Medicine and FAA information which is searchable by words and terms and which contains the most recent versions available for the various documents and information.
