New Carpet in RBD’s future
From Bonnie:
I have some good news I’m very excited to pass on to you. After years of planning we are getting new carpet in the public areas of the first and second floors of RBD! Those floors see two million users a year and I think we can all agree it is definitely time for new carpet. We were delighted that when they opened the bids we even got our first choice of carpet! I’ve put a carpet sample and design board across from the Circulation Desk so please take a look when you get a chance.
Now for a more immediate piece of good news. Bob Yerkey, JP and Marcia have been working on the scheduling of the project and have recommended that we close at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 19th so most of you will get to start your winter break a couple hours early! That will allow the facilities people and the carpeting company to complete the work of preparing to begin the project on the 20th.
I’m certain there are lots of questions that all of this good news sparks so we’ve set up a blog page. I hope that if you have questions you will log on the Intranet and ask them so that we can answer it. Remember, if you have a question, chances are that someone else has the same question so posting it on the “Rug Rumors Rag” (https://www.lib.auburn.edu/staff/leadership/?cat=3) will be helpful to all of us! When you click this link, there is an “Ask a Question” link in the lower left corner of the page that will take you to a question form. I look forward to reading and answering your questions.
Bonnie
