Library catalogs and bibliographic tools with references to books, reports, and documents:

  • AUBIECat - Search Auburn University's catalog. (You can check books out for 90 days and bound journals for 1 day. Faculty may have up to 100 items, and graduate students may have up to 50 items at one time. Also, i Renew a book that you have checked out, or learn how to Recall a book that someone else has checked out.)
  • Books In Print with Book Reviews- See what books are available from publishers.
  • FirstGov - Find documents available through the U.S. Government Printing Office.
  • WorldCat - Search several libraries catalogs at once.

OBTAINING ITEMS FOR WHICH YOU HAVE A REFERENCE

Begin by checking AUBIECat to see if AU Libraries has the book, journal, or other item that you need.

  • If we DO HAVE THE ITEM that you need:
    • Use the call number that you got from AUBIECat, and locate the item within the libraries, or
    • Utilize AUBIExpress (Delivery of articles and book chapters.)
  • If we DO NOT HAVE THE ITEM that you need:

CURRENT AWARENESS RESOURCES AND PREPRINT SERVERS

  • Current Contents - Searchable database offering tables of contents and bibliographic data in the sciences.
  • Preprint Servers - Links to several sites offering papers prior to publication elsewhere.
  • Scholarly Communication and Library Collections - Information on scholarly communication and its impact on library collections.
  • Ingenta Reveal Alerts - Identify up to 25 keyword/author searches and up to 50 journal titles for your user profile, and receive a weekly email with tables of contents matching your profile. This resource is interdisciplinary in subject coverage.
