Subject Databases
Contemporary Women's Issues
a global, multidisciplinary, full-text database that covers journals,
magazines, 'gray' literature and alternative presses, focusing on critical
issues and events that influence women's lives.
GenderWatch
a full
text database of publications that focus on the impact of gender across
a broad spectrum of subject areas. GenderWatch supports programs in business,
education, literature and the arts, health sciences, history, political
science, public policy, sociology and contemporary culture, gender and
women's studies and more. Publications include academic and scholarly journals,
magazines, newspapers, newsletters, regional publications, books, booklets
and pamphlets, conference proceedings, and government, n-g-o and special
reports. The database provides in-depth coverage of the subjects
that are uniquely central to women's lives, including family, childbirth,
birth control, daycare, domestic abuse, work and the workplace, sexual
harassment, aging, aging parents, body image, eating disorders and social
and societal roles. It also includes content on the impact of gender and
gender roles on areas such as: the arts, popular culture and media, business
and work, crime and criminology, education, research and scholarship, family,
health care and medicine, politics, policy and legislation, pornography,
religion, sexuality and sexology, sports and leisure.
JSTOR provides access to
the backfiles of scholarly publications covering the social sciences, humanities,
and sciences. JSTOR includes the full runs of each journal,generally up
to 1-7 years from the present. A sophisticated search engine supports full-text
and cross-disciplinary searching of the journals and presentation of page
images allows viewing of the articles exactly as they appear in print. Women Writers
Online The Brown University Women Writers Project is a long-term research
project devoted to early modern women's writing and electronic text encoding.
The chief goal of the database is to bring texts by pre-Victorian
women writers out of the archive and make them accessible to a wide audience
of teachers, students, scholars, and the general reader.

Elite Covers abstracts and indexing for over 3,000 scholarly
journals and features full text articles for over 1,200 journals since
1990.
Biography and Genealogy Master
Index is a comprehensive index
to nearly 12 million biographical sketches in more than 2700 volumes and
editions of current and retrospective reference books, covering both contemporary
and historical figures throughout the world.
Digital Dissertations
Formerly 'Dissertation Abstracts' includes bibliographic citations for
materials ranging from the first U.S. dissertation, accepted in 1861, to those
accepted as recently as last semester. Citations for dissertations published
from 1980 forward also include 350-word abstracts written by the author.
Citations for master's theses from 1988 forward include 150-word abstracts
InfoTrac's Expanded Academic
ASAP indexes 1500 journal titles in a variety of subject areas.
Articles in over 500 journals are full text. 1980 – Present.
WorldCat
consists of bibliographic records
of any type of material cataloged by OCLC member libraries. Includes manuscripts
written as early as the 12th century. Useful for identifying sources not
held by Auburn University Libraries.

Ingenta Uncover
Plus - UnCover is a general database of over 8 million articles in
many disciplines. Coverage of more than 18,000 journals begins with Fall
1988. Subsidized document delivery up to $40.00 per article. (AU Faculty,

Citation Database
Arts and Humanities
Citation Index Web of Science provides access to current bibliographic
information and cited references from over 1,144 of the world's leading
arts and humanities journals, as well as covering individually selected,
relevant items from over 6,800 major science and social science journals.
