AnthroSource

This database is a product of the American Anthropological Association (AAA) and is designed to serve the research, teaching, and professional needs of anthropologists.  AnthroSource brings 100 years of anthropological material online, including issues of 15 of the AAA’s most critical peer-reviewed publications as well as an electronic archive of AAA journals.

Alexander Hamilton Exhibit March 7

Exhibit on Display March 7 – April 15:

Alexander Hamilton:  The Man Who Made Modern America

The exhibit is located in the three tall glass display cases on one’s left upon entering the Special Collections and Archives Department.  This exhibit features numerous illustrations, books, captions, and a chronology detailing the life of Alexander Hamilton (1757-1804) who was born in on the Caribbean island of Nevis, emigrated to what became the U.S.A., fought in the American Revolution, became the very influential first Secretary of the Treasury in 1789 and died in a duel with Aaron Burr (who served as Vice-President in the first administration of Thomas Jefferson) in 1804.  Additional exhibit materials concerning Hamilton are located on the large folding panels located to one’s right on the opposite side of the department from the exhibit described above.

The Special Collections and Archives Department is located on the Ground Floor of the Ralph Brown Draughon Library.

Education Research Complete

Education Research Complete offers the world’s largest and most complete collection of full text Education journals.  It is a bibliographic and full text database covering scholarly research and information relating to all areas of Education.  Topics covered include all levels of education from early childhood to higher education, and all educational specialties, such as multilingual education, health education, and testing.

Education Research Complete also covers areas of curriculum instruction as well as administration, policy, funding, and related social issues.  The database provides indexing and abstracts for more than 1820 journals, as well as full text for more than 900 journals.  This database also includes full text for 71 books and monographs, and full text for numerous education-related conference papers.
