By Howard Colvin and published by Yale University Press in 2008, this is the Fourth Edition. This large volume is located in the Library of Architecture, Design, and Construction in the Reference Shelves under call number NA 1996 .C6 2007.
The LADC is located in Dudley Hall.

In West Africa, the griot functions as a poet, a praise singer, a wandering musician, and a repository of oral tradition.
Located in the five flat glass display cases on the east side (facing South College Street) in the Special Collections and Archives Department, is an exhibit on griots. The exhibit features numerous books, photographs, and informative captions about griots and some of the connections to African American folklore.
The Special Collections and Archives Department is located on the Ground Floor of the Ralph Brown Draughon Library.

Along with the recent recarpeting of the First and Second Floor of the Ralph Brown Draughon Library, some other reorganization of the physical plant is taking place. Included in this reorganization is a new location for the Current Periodicals shelves. Current issues of periodicals are now located in the shelves found to the left shortly after entering the Ralph Brown Draughon Library from the Mell Street entrance (i.e., the entrance that faces Haley Center) close to the former location of the New Books shelves.

The New Books shelves have been moved from near the Mell Street entrance (i.e., the library entrance facing Haley Center) on the Second Floor of the Ralph Brown Draughon Library to a new area just around the corner next to the main Reference Department office.

Located in the three large glass display cases immediately on one’s left upon entering the Special Collections and Archives Department is an exhibit featuring “The Evolution of Charles Darwin.”
The exhibit features numerous books, illustrations, and informative captions concerning Charles Darwin and his development of the concept of evolution and his theory of Natural Selection. Also included are realia such as fossils and life-size models of skulls showing the evolution of human beings.
The Special Collections and Archives Department is located on the Ground Floor of the Ralph Brown Draughon Library.

Located on the north side (facing Samford Hall) of the Special Collections and Archives Department in the three upright display cases, is an exhibit featuring “The Many Faces of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.” The exhibit includes books and photographs and informative captions covering King’s activities as civil rights champion, orator, Nobel Peace Prize winner, activist, clergyman, and author.
The Special Collections and Archives Department is located on the Ground Floor of the Ralph Brown Draughon Library.
