Three large flat-screen television sets have been mounted on the wall in the Newspaper Reading Room, located on the First Floor of the Ralph Brown Draughon Library.  The volume has been muted and the televisions have been set to display news programs.

Encyclopedia of Alabama

This online-only encyclopedia covers the state's history, culture, geography, and natural environment.  It also offers video, audio, and graphics that can be updated and expanded.  The Encyclopedia was listed in the "Best of Free Reference" category for 2008 by Library Journal (April 15, 2009).
