Auburn University Libraries announce an exciting new way for students and faculty to meet and share ideas with the availability of two media:scape locations in the Ralph Brown Draughon Library.
The media:scape system offers a "walk-up and connect" solution that allows up to six MS Windows or Apple laptops to be simultaneously connected to a monitor. Users can then switch between computer video feeds with just the touch of a button - facilitating the sharing and comparing of individual ideas in a collaborative learning environment.
The library has two configurations of the media: scape hardware. In the First Floor installation (currently reserved for undergraduate use) two medium-sized monitors can be individually controlled, making it easy to compare two ideas or solutions simultaneously. On the Third Floor there is a single large-monitor installation that allows up to six people to easily work on a single project. The Third Floor installation is open for reservation by all students and faculty. Reservation for the media:scape rooms are on a first-come first-served basis and the rooms may be booked for up to four-hour blocks of time through the First Floor Circulation Desk, either in person or by contacting J.P. Pendleton at 844-4094 or pendlaj@auburn.edu .
