Freedomways is now available via the Independent Voices    database.

Freedomways was one of the most important journals of the black arts and intellectual movement. It is one of sixty titles targeted for inclusion in the Black American Press series within Independent Voices.  Issues from 1967 - 1976 are available through the Independent Voices database.

Freemdomways is also available in print 1963-1985 (incomplete) on the Third Floor of the Ralph Brown Draughon Library under call number HT 1581 .A2 F7.

Independent Voices  is an ongoing digitization project supported in part by Auburn University Libraries that chronicles the transformative decades of the 60s, 70s and 80s through alternative press magazines, journals, and newspapers. This interdisciplinary project is of interest to women and gender studies, sociology, political science, history, communication and multicultural studies among others.
