Scholars and researchers make use of Google Scholar, yet may not be as familiar with how it actually works, or how to increase access to scholarly materials. This interactive and hands-on workshop will cover how and what Google Scholar searches, how it displays results, and how it connects with Auburn University Libraries holdings in order to increase effective and efficient access to scholarly resources. Sessions will be held in the Library's Second Floor Gibbs Instruction Lab, across from the RBD Library Help Desk.

Be sure to check library hours of operation during the Intersession and Holiday season by clicking on the Hours link located  in the top central section of the Auburn University Libraries homepage.  Intersession hours will be in effect December 18 and 19 (following Commencement Hours December 16 and closure December 17) and January 3-9 (closed January 7).  Holiday hours will be in effect December 20 - January 2 (and the library will be closed December 23-26,  and December 31 -  January 1).Regular hours of operation will resume on January 10, the first day of classes for the Spring Semester.

Starting December 19, Auburn University faculty members will see their regular book borrowing loan period change from 90 days to 180 days.   In other words, a six-month checkout period before you need to renew!

Faculty, staff, and students wishing to obtain Interlibrary Loan and AUBIExpress services between the dates of December 20, 2017 and January 2, 2018 should take note of the following deadlines and plan research materials requests accordingly.   The Interlibrary Loan and AUBIExpress offices will be closed December 20, 2017 through January 2, 2018.   Book requests submitted after December 8, 2017 may not arrive after January 3, 2018.   Article requests submitted after December 15, 2017 may not arrive until after January 3, 2018.

The World Bank's annual compilation of data about development; provides direct access to more than 550 development indicators, with time series for 208 countries and 18 country groups from 1960 to present.
