Biographical Sketch: James S. Edwards (U.S. Army Air Force), a bomber radio operator, jumped out of his damaged plane and was captured by the Germans in Budapest, Hungary in World War II.
Scope / Content: Contains one homemade diary (80 pages) and cigarette case of James S. Edwards. Edwards wrote the diary on the back of old German postcards. The journal describes his experience as a German prisoner of war, and he mentions other P.O.W.s that he met during his imprisonment. He made the cigarette case out of tin scraps, and it contains 14 unfiltered cigarettes.
