In order to ensure that heavily-used library materials are readily available for all patrons, fines for two categories of library materials will change on January 2, 2007.  The two groups of materials affected by this adjustment are recalled items and materials with special loan periods such as bound journals.

For these two categories, the current rate of $0.50 per day will change to $1.00 per day.  When another patron needs checked-out materials, books may be recalled seven days after they have been checked out.  Once a recall is placed, a patron has seven fine-free days to return the item.
