Located in the three large glass exhibit cases on one's left upon entering the Special Collections and Archives Department is an exhibit concerning the life and times of George Petrie (1866-1947), longtime professor of History at Auburn, and organizer of the first football game (1892) and the first baseball team at Auburn.  The exhibit features numerous photographs, manuscripts, books, and other items as well as informative captions concerning "Auburn Man:  The Life and Times of George Petrie."

The Special Collections and Archives Department is located on the Ground Floor of the Ralph Brown Draughon Library.
