Auburn University Libraries’ next Discover Auburn Lecture Series program features Laura N. Hill, communications editor at the Encyclopedia of Alabama, speaking on the women's suffrage movement in Auburn and East Alabama.

“Suffragists in East Alabama” will include names familiar to the Auburn family. Women with names such as Cary, Martin, Glenn, and Petrie were among the first women to register to vote in Lee County in October 1920. The story also includes a visit from nationally known suffragists in a bright yellow automobile.

The program will be Thursday, April 14 at 3 p.m. and is available as both an in-person lecture in the Caroline Marshall Draughon Auditorium on the ground floor of the Ralph Brown Draughon Library or as a Zoom presentation at https://auburn.zoom.us/s/4882316628.
