Due to power substation maintenance, the Ralph Brown Draughon Library will be closed on Saturday, March 17.  Library databases and digital collections will be offline from 5 a.m. until approximately 7 p.m. that day but the Auburn Universiy Libraries' classic catalog will be available during this time.  The RBD Library will reopen and resume its regular schedule at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 18.

Three library construction projects are scheduled to begin during the week of Spring Break (March 12 - 16).

1)  First Floor, Ralph Brown Draughon Library:  conversion of the auditorium for other purposes.  Crews will be knocking down walls andd tearing out the projection booth floor.  Be prepared for noise!

2)  First Floor, Ralph Brown Draughon Library:  dome lights are being converted to energy-saving fluorescent lights.  The Parking Deck Entrance will be blocked so please use the Mell Street Entrance.

3)  Third Floor, Ralph Brown Draughon Library:  a hole will be knocked in the wall between Rooms 3101C and 3101A (OIT Computer Lab) for the purpose of installing a door.  The Third Floor Computer Lab is being converted into a computer repair shop that the OIT (Office of Information Technology) hopes to have ready by the start of the Summer Semester.

Monitoring the Future:  A Continuing Study of American Youth (8th. and 10th. Grade Surveys), 2010

  • These surveys of 8th- and 10th-grade students are part of a series that explores changes in important values, behaviors, and lifestyle orientations of contemporary American youth. Students in each grade are randomly assigned to complete one of four questionnaires, each with a different subset of topical questions but containing a set of "core" questions on demographics and drug use. There are more than 450 variables across the questionnaires. Drugs covered by this survey include amphetamines (stimulants), barbiturates (tranquilizers), other prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, tobacco, smokeless tobacco, alcohol, inhalants, steroids, marijuana, hashish, LSD, hallucinogens, cocaine, crack, ecstasy, methamphetamine, and injectable drugs such as heroin.
  • This dataset is available through the ICPSR (Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research) database which provides search and browsing access to abstracts and data sets in the world's largest archive of computerized social science data. Search or browse title of study, principal investigator, words in abstract, or study number.
