The Clio Notes tab is located in the upper left-central side  of the screen for each of the two databases described below.

Clio Notes on America:  History and Life

Clio Notes for America:  History and Life will guide you through subject in United States history, by allowing you to browse through chronologies and brief summaries of significant events and themes in American history.  On the main screen, you will find a list of major time periods and events.  Each of these is further divided into subtopics that display informative essays and suggestions for further research.  Linked subject terms are also provided, which allow you to search the entire America:  History and Life database for articles, book and media reviews, and dissertations.

Clio Notes for Historical Abstracts will guide you through subjects in World History since 1450 (excluding the United States and Canada) by allowing you to browse through chronologies and brief summaries of significant events and themes in modern history.  On the main screen, you will find a list of major time periods and events.  Each of these is further divided into subtopics that display informative essays and suggestions for future research.  Linked subject terms are also provided, which allow you to search the entire Historical Abstracts database for articles, book citations, and dissertations.

Cabell's Directory lists dozens of scholarly journals with their publication guidelines in the field of Education.  The directory helps scholars identify journals for publication and guides users in evaluating journal quality.  Entries include contact information, manuscript guidelines, acceptance rates, review process, number of reviewers, and audience.

There are three Educational Directories in this database:

Children's Core Collection  and its archive are the electronic versions of Wilson's standard reference work of the same name.  Children's Core Collection is a selective annotated list of fiction and nonfiction books and magazines from children from preschool through sixth grade, along with review sources and other professional aids for children's librarians and school media specialists.  Nonfiction works are classified by subject according to the Dewey Decimal Classification system, works of fiction, story collections, and picture books are designated Fic, S C, and E.

Due to licensing restrictions, access to this database is SINGLE USER (i. e., only one person at a time).

This database contains approximately 32,000 time series covering more than 200 countries and areas and includes all series appearing on the International Financial Statistics Country Pages; exchange rate series for all IMF (International Monetary Fund) member countries, plus Aruba and the Netherlands Antilles; major IMF accounts series; and most other world, area, and country series from the International Financial Statistics World Tables.  The data is cumulative, going back to 1948 for annual entries and back to 1957 for quarterly and monthly entries.

International Financial Statistics is available on the CD-ROM workstation located at the Second Floor Reference Desk in the Ralph Brown Draughon Library.
