This online-only encyclopedia covers the state's history, culture, geography, and natural environment.  It also offers video, audio, and graphics that can be updated and expanded.  The Encyclopedia was listed in the "Best of Free Reference" category for 2008 by Library Journal (April 15, 2009).

If you are interested in a quick guide for locating information on international topics, one handy resource is the newly-created International Resources subject guide .  It features a basic listing of books, journals, library databases, reference works, free Internet sources, and links to Auburn University resources pertaining to these continents:  Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America.

The International Resources subject guide is located under the Subject Guides link located on the left hand side of the Auburn University Libraries homepage and then the All Guides link located in the upper left hand side of the Subject Guides page.

The AUETD (Auburn University Electronic Theses and Dissertations) database has been redesigned for more convenient access.   It currently provides access to over 1600 Auburn University theses and dissertations, most produced from 2004 ownard.  In addition to advanced search capabilities, the AUETD database allows one to browse by iddue date, authors and advisors, titles, and department.

The Project Muse database now provides a new search feature to connect researchers to more articles by a specific author.  When a search brings up a citation, the "More By" feature appears for authors listed as contributing to that article.  Researchers can simply click on the linked author name to find additional articles in Project Muse by that author.  The "More By" feature also provides links to works by the author is the Google Scholar search engine and OCLC WorldCat search engine, both of which are available on the World Wide Web.

The Project Muse database offers journal titles from 40 scholarly publishers and covers the fields of literature and criticism, history, the visual and performing arts, cultural studies, education, political science, gender studies, economics, and many others.  Note:  Auburn subscribes to the Standard package.
