To relieve congestion and improve access, the public access computers located directly in back of the Reference Desk on the Second Floor of the Ralph Brown Draughon Library, have been rearranged.  One cluster of five computers is now located on tall tables without chairs and is intended for short-term use.  The other cluster, of six computers, continues to be located on low tables with chairs, and is intended for those patrons needing longer periods of use.

These public access computers, intended primarily for the general public and other non-Auburn University patrons, are located under the green signs saying "Public Terminals.  Internet Only."

Is English your second language?  Do you know someone for whom English is a second language?  If so, you will be happy to note that there are now foreign language translator links for the Auburn University Libraries homepage available for the following languages:  Chinese (Simplified), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and Spanish.  When you click on the appropriate link, it will translate the Auburn University Libraries homepage from English into the selected language.

The links appear on the right hand side of the Auburn University Libraries homepage as icons bearing the flag of each country whose official language is represented.

To help meet the demand for study and computing space, the Ralph Brown Draughon Library is making available two recently remodeled Instruction Labs for evening and weekend use.  The labs are normally in use for bibliographic instructions during weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.  After 5 p.m., the instructional laptop computers are securely locked away into "garages" that fold into the counters and a sign indicating that the labs are open to students is put on display.  Students may then bring in their own laptop computers (or check one out from the Circulation/Reserve Desk located on the First Floor), plug them in, and get to work.

The new wireless labs are located on the Second Floor of the Ralph Brown Draughon Library:  one lab is found immediately to one's right upon entering the Mell Street entrance while the other lab is located in the middle of the Second Floor near the Atrium stairwell.

Avoid the frustration of having the Auburn University Libraries' online catalog, AUBIEcat , timeout on you!

There is now a "Session Timeout" notice that appears in the lower left hand side of the screen that provides a timeout warning count-down (five minutes).  The script warns you that a timeout is imminent, allowing you to restart the timer by refreshing the page being viewed.

If you take no action before the session times out, a warning dialog box appears in the upper left hand side of the screen, giving you a chance to start a new search.

Click on the "Books and Journals" link in the upper left hand side of the A.U. Libraries homepage to use AUBIEcat, the online catalog.
