The Ralph Brown Draughon Library has just replaced its self-service checkout machines located at both the Mell Street entrance and Parking Deck entrance with new 3M V-Series SelfCheck checkout machines.  The new machines operate by touch-screen and provide a fast, accurate checkout experience.  The V-design ensures that books are in place correctly even for first-time users of the machines.  The screens provide instructions but library staff will also be available for assistance if needed.

Make sure you have your A.U. faculty, staff, or student i.d. card with you since it functions as your library card and is needed to operate the new self-service checkout machines!

The Auburn University Libraries have moved to a new Interlibrary Loan management system.  This system, named OCLC ILLiad, will simplify the request process by allowing patrons to:  enter address and other personal information only once and view the status and history of all ILL/AUBIExpress requests within one form.

Access to the new system is available by clicking on the "Interlibrary Loan/AUBIExpress" link located near the center of the A.U. Libraries homepage .  The system will request your Auburn user name and password.  If you have any questions about this service, please contact Pambanisha King at or 844-1728.

Auburn University is switching over to a new electronic management system called Banner.  The change will affect Auburn University employees and students and other patrons of the A.U. Libraries as the University switches over from using Social Security Card numbers to an alternate form of identification for logging in and using University services.  This will also include access to library services including document delivery services, logging in from off campus to electronic databases, and the checking out of library materials.  Library patrons most likely to be affected currently include retired faculty, adjunct faculty, non-Auburn University patrons, and some patrons whose identification numbers end with the number 5.

If you have a problem with logging into any library service or system, please contact the Circulation Department at  844-1701.  For problems with Document Delivery Services, please contact 844-1745 or .

From 4:45 p.m. on August 10 until 7:45 a.m. on August 19, access to the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) and AUBIExpress web forms will be restricted.  The Library will be installing a new interlibrary loan system called ILLiad.  ILLiad will allow users to track their AUBIExpress and Interlibrary Loan requests and will provide detailed request histories.  Please be aware of this necessary disruption in interlibrary loan and document delivery service.

Please contact Pambanisha King (844-1745) or Glenn Anderson (844-1741) at the Draughon Library for more information.
