From 4:45 p.m. on August 10 until 7:45 a.m. on August 19, access to the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) and AUBIExpress web forms will be restricted.  The Library will be installing a new interlibrary loan system called ILLiad.  ILLiad will allow users to track their AUBIExpress and Interlibrary Loan requests and will provide detailed request histories.  Please be aware of this necessary disruption in interlibrary loan and document delivery service.

Please contact Pambanisha King (844-1745) or Glenn Anderson (844-1741) at the Draughon Library for more information.

The Auburn University Libraries E-Reserve (Electronic Reserve) Desk will be moving from the Systems Department to the Circulation Desk as of Fall Semester 2006. The Summer will be a time of transition from Systems to Circulation.

For the remainder of the Summer, J. P. Pendleton (844-1701) in the Circulation Department will be the main E-Reserve contact. Lynn Abernethy (844-1730) in the Systems Department will be available Tuesday through Thursday. You may contact either person for E-Reserve assistance during the Summer Semester. The E-Reserve e-mail address is still eleresv@auburn.edu . Items sent to E-Reserve through campus mail should be addressed to E-Reserve/RBD Library Circulation Department.

Beginning August 1, 2006, all E-Reserve responsibilities will be handled at the RBD Library Circulation Desk. J. P. will be the full-time E-Reserve manager.

If you have any questions or concerns about this change, please contact Susan Hinds, Circulation/Reserve Head, at 844-1579.

In order to help patrons better figure out the location of where to find items in the Auburn University Libraries, online floor plans now appear online when conducting a search through AUBIEcat, the Auburn University Libraries' online catalog. The floor plans can be enlarged for better visibility by clicking on them. If an item is located in either the Library of Architecture, Design, and Construction (LADC) or the Veterinary Medical Library, the icon instructs patrons to click on it for a campus map, showing the location of these branch libraries. If an item is available electronically, the icon clearly indicates that the item is an electronic resource and clearly indicates how to gain access.

AUBIEcat, the A.U. Libraries' online catalog, is available by clicking on the "Books and Journals" link located in the upper left hand side of the A.U. Libraries homepage.

AUBIEcat, the Auburn University Libraries' online catalog, now features a timeout timer located on the lower left hand side of the screen. The timer provides a running record of the amount of time left before the five-minute searching time limit of AUBIEcat is up. Everytime you begin a new search, the timer resets itself to five (5) minutes.

When you click on the "Books and Journals" link, located in the upper left hand side of the A.U. Libraries homepage, you are using AUBIEcat, the online catalog.

The Auburn University Libraries online catalog, AUBIEcat, now defaults to the Keyword search screen rather than the "Basic" (no link provided here because the system times out after five minutes) search screen. The reason for making this change is to make it more convenient for the majority of library patrons who are more likely to be looking for library materials about a certain topic rather than for a specific author or title.

The online catalog ("AUBIEcat") is located by clicking on the Books and Journals link located in the upper left hand side of the AU Libraries homepage .

Several months ago the Ralph Brown Draughon Library established the Movies, Music, and More collection for more conveniently housing audio-visual library materials such as videotapes, DVDs, music CDs, phonograph records, etc. on the First Floor in back of the Circulation/Reserve Desk.

Now a special online catalog link has been mounted on the AU Libraries homepage to allow people to search for these materials. Just click on the Movies, Music and More link located in the upper lefthand side to get started. The Movies, Music, and More link is actually a subset of AUBIEcat, the AU Libraries' online catalog.

There is also a separate Movies, Music, and More link located under the Find Articles and Databases link that can be used to find an alphabetical title listing of audio-visual materials by format housed in the Movies, Music, and More collection.

A new library instruction lab has been opened on the Third Floor of the Ralph Brown Draughon Library bringing the total to three instruction labs (the others are located on the First Floor and the Second Floor).

Incorporating state-of-the-art equipment, this lab will allow the Reference Department to schedule in more classes to better meet the need for library instruction sessions.

Please note: these labs are intended purely for instructional use and are not open to the general public. Library patrons are encouraged to use the numerous public-access terminals located on every floor as well as the Internet Cafe located on the Ground Floor of the Ralph Brown Draughon Library.
